Day 4 of the 60DWCC - Painful Butt Experience

7.10 am - THL left for the MRT station while I went for my morning jog while RK still enjoys his beauty sleep.

RK and I spent the rest of the morning and afternoon at home after he came back from his tuition at the RC. The technician from M1 came in the afternoon to fix up the Fibre modem and wireless router which worked flawlessly.

4.30 pm - We left for Jurong Point earlier because THL was there early to handle some mobile contract matters for her company. After THL done, we went up to the 3rd floor and had early dinner at Pepper Lunch. The steak meals that we ordered were very delicious and THL and I both agree that it was worth the price. Even RK was enjoying his Salmon rice - student meal.

6.38 pm - Since it was a cool Friday evening, we decided to hop on a bus service that travels long distance and after a little discussion, we decided to take Bus 30 to Bedok. After we got seated at the front of the bus at the upper deck,  I checked on the number of stops that Bus 30 has via my mobile app. To my dismay, I was shocked that there are a total of 73 stops across the entire journey. I began to worry that me and my poor butt may not "survive" the journey well.

True enough, at 8.00 pm, the 3 of us were still on the bus and my poor butt was already screaming for mercy. As we were already somewhere near Old Airport Food Centre, we decided to alight and catch a bite at the food centre.

After our early supper (Rojak and Stingray), we decided to walk a few hundred meters to a nearby MRT station and took a train ride to Buona Vista and catch a connecting train to Chinese Garden and followed by a taxi home.

10.30 pm - The MRT ride to Buona Vista was smooth as it was not really crowded and we were able to get a cab $6 home the moment we touched down at Chinese Garden station.

Transport Expenses: $16.54

MRT Fare:

LS to BL (THL) = $0.73
LS to BL (RK and Myself) = $1.09
MB to CG (3 of Us) -> $1.91 x 2 + 1 x 0.58 = $4.40

Bus Ride:

Bus 30 (3 of Us) -> $1.87 x 2 + $0.58 x 1 = $4.32

Taxi: $6.00

Daily Afterthoughts

Lesson learnt - Long distance bus ride (slow lane) is not for people like us who have been on the driving on the fast lane for so many year. Despite the long and hard journey on the long distance bus ride, I was glad that the 3 of us were able to chit chat and joke along the way and we did enjoy our food at the food centre. And most importantly we were able to walk and exercise (walking to the Mountbatten Station) after the early supper. This would not have been possible had we not sold the car. :)
