Day 1 of the 60DWCC - Mixed Feeling

3.15pm - The handing over of the car was quick and easy but the mixed feeling that lingers behind stayed for a long while. The Suzuki SUV has served us well over the past 3 years and it was obviously hard to have to finally bid the car "Goodbye". The car (XL - nickname we have given it 3 years ago) will be missed by us and we will probably get to see it again once it got listed for sale on used car websites.

~~Good Bye XL!! - You will be missed and will always live in our memory~~

5.40pm - It has been a long while since the last time RK (son) and me walked to the MRT station - the one nearest to our house. THL (wife) and I had earlier on arranged to meet at Jurong Point for dinner and I have to admit the journey there was smooth and RK was enjoying the MRT ride although it was only one stop away.

After our dinner at a Japanese restaurant plus some short sessions of retail therapy, we decided to head home. As it was raining, we decided to take a cab home. The taxi queue at the taxi stand was not as long as I expected it to be. It really feels great to be chauffeured around after being a family driver for such a long time. I do not think THL and RK will share this feeling of mine since they have always played the role of a passenger. :D

Even though I was a little uneasy that the cab fare turned out to be $9.20 for such a short journey, I was relieved that the first day challenge ended well without any complication and emotion breakdown from THL and RK. Phew...

Transport Expense: $10.29

MRT -> $1.09 (RK + Myself)
Cab fare -> $9.20

Daily Afterthoughts

Without the expenses of owning a car weighing down our back, we are glad that our wallets are heavier now and we now have a bigger budget to splurge out at restaurants and retail therapies besides saving for raining days.
